Advocate , Youth Program Leader, Public Speaker, Lifelong Learner
Paige Cox is a dedicated advocate for children and youth well-being, she has just completed her
Master of Education Degree at Cape Breton University, where her studies focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and fostering a sustainable future. This program represents her fourth post-secondary accreditation, following two bachelor’s degrees from Cape Breton University and a diploma from Holland College.
In recognition of her impactful volunteer work with community youth and her dedication to promoting the well-being of children and youth in the Northside area, Paige was honored with the 2023 Cape Breton Vital Excellence Award in January 2024.
Paige has actively presented her youth programming efforts at conferences across Nova Scotia,
Charlottetown, Ottawa, and Vancouver, with her most recent presentation taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. Furthermore, she has been selected for significant representational roles, including representing her electoral district on Parliament Hill, attending the World Hunger Forum in Rome to address global food insecurity, and participating in the United Nations assembly in New York to discuss global inequalities. She is the founder of Dove Program Cape Breton: A female empowerment group that focuses on fostering the skills needed by young girls to thrive in today’s society.
A notable recent achievement includes her role as the sole student speaker at TEDx Cape Breton University, where she shared her story of perseverance and her journey as an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Paige actively contributes to several boards, including the Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Worker Association, where she represents the Cape Breton region. She also serves on two national boards: the Young Canadians Roundtable on Health, she was appointed to the NEADS (National Educational Association of Disabled Students) board as the Director and advocate for the province of Nova Scotia, where she champions transformative changes and support.
Most recently she has been participating in United Nations Canada Building Young Professionals Program and traveled to Waterloo Ontario in July with the United Nations Canada, participating in a number of workshops with young people from across Canada.
Paige Cox’s journey at CBU is a testament to her determination, resilience and her determined commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
